My current licensed capacity is 8 children at any one time, this number includes my own children. A parent that is interested in part time care (Lets say, Tues & Thurs) needs to be aware that even though their child will be at the center part time (only 2 days), that child will take up a whole slot for the days that he or she attends (Tues & Thurs) as well as the remaining days he or she does not attend (Mon, Wed, Fri) if the child care provider cannot find another part time child to attend on those remaining days of the week, they will be taking a big cut in the full time pay rate. For this reason most Family Child Care Provider’s usually do not accept part time children. I do offer part time slots on rare occasions if the situation fits into my program as previously mentioned.
